Patons Diploma Gold 4ply (Substitute any 4ply or sock yarn that knits to the same gauge)
55% Wool, 25% Acrylic, 20% Nylon1 x 50g Shade 4245 Steel (MC)
1 x 50g Shade 4286 Red (CC)
Short length of 4ply waste yarn in a contrasting colour to MC for provisional cast on
Ordinary wool rich 4ply (about $8/£5* per pair)
1 set of 5 x US1 (2.25 mm) dpns or size to obtain gauge
1 set of 5 x US 2 (2.75 mm) dpns or size to obtain gauge
1 x US 3 (3.25 mm) needle for casting off loosely or making into knee high socks
(Or one long/two short circular(s) if you prefer)
A stitch marker to mark beginning of rnds
1 wool/tapestry needle for weaving in ends
